SOV Language

Japanese structure is SOV which means the word order is:

Subject Object Verb

So the verb comes at the end of the sentence while English is an SVO language:

Subject Verb Object

So the verb comes after the subject.

Here is an example:

Seiya watches a movie

Watch a movie

subject Seiya

Wa

object Eiga

Wo

verb Miru

Seiya a movie watches

Miru means "to watch" and it is placed at the end of the sentence.

Since the word order is different from English, it will probably take some time to get used to this structure.

Always remember

The VERB almost always comes at the end of the sentence.
